Chongqing Local Guide

Yubei / Liangjiang · Riverside park

Jinhaiwan is a long free riverfront — choose a core loop.

This Jialing River park is described as roughly 16–17 km of free waterfront. Most visitors do better picking the lighthouse and lawns core rather than trying to cover the whole strip in one go.

Suggested visitHalf a day to a full day; about 2–3 hours for the lighthouse and lawns core area.
Admission snapshotFree entry, described as open 24 hours in the 7 October 2026 editorial source — confirm current rules before a late visit.
Metro accessLine 6 to Dazhulin Station Exit 2, then walk or Bus 643 toward Tianshan Dadao West Station (about 650–700 m walk in the source note).
Best timing noteAfternoon through sunset for the so-called orange-sea light; arrive about an hour before sunset according to the source guide.

The reviewed English source places Jinhaiwan along the Jialing River in Dazhulin, Yubei District (Liangjiang New Area), stretching from Dazhulin toward Lijia and linking onward to Jiuquhe Wetland Park. Nicknames such as "Little Kenting" are local praise, not an official resort classification.

A practical core route

  1. Start at the white Time Lighthouse area (Zone F in the source map notes).
  2. Continue to the renewed shared lawns for a picnic or tent rest — the source says open flames are banned on the free lawns.
  3. Use the riverside path only as far as your group's energy allows; bikes are described as available to rent near the East Gate.
  4. If travelling with children, note the playground area in the source itinerary and keep a close watch near the water.

Access and supplies

By car, the source points to East Gate / East-2 Gate parking, or navigation targets such as "Time Lighthouse" and "Four Seasons Cafe" for the core area. Food stalls inside are described as limited, so bring water and snacks; Lijia Paradise Walk is mentioned nearby for fuller meals.

Weekend afternoons fill parking and sunset spots quickly — the guide suggests arriving before 14:00 on busy days.

Safety notes from the source

Rocks can be slippery and currents near deeper channels are strong. The material warns against entering sandbanks during or after high water or heavy rain, and says children in the water need continuous adult supervision. Take trash with you.

Seasonal colour notes in the source include autumn plane trees and dawn redwoods; summer evenings are described as cooler by the river.
